What is the difference between a framed shower door and a frameless shower door?
A framed shower door is constructed of thinner and weaker 5/32″ to 3/16″ glass. It relies on metal to strengthen the enclosure.
A frameless shower enclosure is made up of 3/8″ to 1/2″ tempered and polished glass. This glass has greater strength and does not require heavy metal framing around it. Frameless shower doors also eliminate the wobble seen in cheaper store bought doors when opening or closing.
How long does it take to install a Frameless Shower?
A typical frameless shower door installation will take anywhere from 1-4 hours. Obviously the more panels, the longer it will take. The benefit to Quality Frameless Showers is we only have in house installers, we never subcontract our installations.
What’s the average turnaround time?
The average turnaround time for your shower door fabrication is 7-10 days. We work direct with the manufacturer and get multiple deliveries per week in order to achieve such high standards.
How do I keep my Frameless Shower door clean?
Quality Frameless Showers supplies a squeegee free of charge with every door sold. We often say, the squeegee will be your best friend. If you feel as if you will not be diligent with the squeegee, we offer protective coatings that will repel water, oil, and soap scum to make cleaning a breeze. How wide should my door be?
Shower door widths can vary from 22” up to 36”. Most standard size doors are 28”. Every shower is made to order, allowing you to customize the balance between panel size so the opening will look symmetrical.
Why do prices vary so much for a frameless shower door?
The prices can vary based on a number of things. Items you see at big box stores are standard showers. Most of these showers are made in China and do not allow for any out of square conditions. The glass we order is ordered to your exact opening. Most of the time walls will be out of square (leaning or bowed) causing standard showers to not fit correctly/at all.
When our sales consultant comes to measure your shower, we take precise measurements and have your glass cut to fit the opening perfectly. The shower will be aesthetically pleasing and evenly in line eliminating water leaks. Another driving factor of price is source of glass. We have done the negotiating for you and we buy direct from the manufacturer. The savings we see get passed right along to you, the consumer.
What if I have issues with my frameless shower post-install? Is there a warranty period of anytime?
We offer a 3 year warranty on all shower doors we sell and install unless otherwise noted. We cover the hardware and the glass . If you choose to go with a surface protection, these items carry different warranties that are from the manufacturer. Please refer to our warranty section for more information.
